Måns Petter Albert Sahlén Zelmerlöw was born on June 13, 1986, in Lund, Sweden. He is the son of Birgitta Sahlén, a professor at Lund University, and Sven-Olof Zelmerlöw, a surgeon. With a background partly rooted in Danish descent, Måns developed an early passion for music, participating in a school choir project during his high school years. His theatrical debut came in 2002 when he played one of the brothers in the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in Malmö.
Career
Zelmerlöw first gained national attention in 2005 as a contestant on the Swedish version of "Idol," where he finished fifth. His career took a significant turn in 2006 when he won the first season of "Let's Dance," showcasing his versatility as a performer. The following year, he competed in Melodifestivalen with his hit song "Cara Mia," which propelled him to fame and led to the release of his debut album, "Stand by For..." This album reached number one in Sweden and was certified platinum.
In 2015, he achieved international acclaim by winning the Eurovision Song Contest with his song "Heroes," representing Sweden. Måns Petter Albert Sahlén Zelmerlöw is a Swedish singer and television presenter.
