Early Life

Eleni Foureira, born Entela Fureraj on March 7, 1987, in Fier, Albania, is a Greek singer who has made a significant impact on the music scene. Growing up in a family with a seamstress mother and a construction worker father, she has three siblings and was raised in the Eastern Orthodox faith. At the age of four, her family moved to Vlorë and later relocated to Greece during the 1997 Albanian civil unrest, where they settled in Athens. Foureira developed a passion for music early on, learning to play the guitar and working in theater for three years.

Career

Foureira's music career began in 2007 when she joined the girl group Mystique, which gained popularity with hits like "Se alli selida" and "Min kaneis pos de thymasai." After the group disbanded in 2009, she pursued a solo career, signing with Universal Music Greece. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2010, followed by several successful albums, including "Ti Poniro Mou Zitas" (2012) and "Anemos agapis" (2014). Foureira gained further recognition as a judge on the Greek version of "So You Think You Can Dance" and starred in the musical "Barbarella: the 80's Musical."

In 2018, she represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest with her hit "Fuego," finishing in second place and solidifying her status as a pop icon. Foureira has released numerous singles, including "Tómame" and "Sirens," showcasing her versatility in the electropop and pop music genres.

Personal Life

Eleni Foureira has been in a relationship with Spanish footballer Alberto Botía since 2017. In November 2022, she announced her pregnancy, and on February 7, 2023, she welcomed a baby boy named Ermis. Throughout her career, Foureira has navigated her Albanian roots and Greek identity, ultimately embracing her heritage and becoming a celebrated figure in the Greek music industry.
