Early Life

Edison Chen Koon-hei was born on October 7, 1980, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, into a family with deep ties to the entertainment industry. His father, Edward Chen, is a well-known figure in Hong Kong's entertainment scene, often referred to as "Ninth Brother." Growing up with two older sisters, Chen attended R.C. Palmer Secondary School and later the Hong Kong International School, where he was classmates with fellow star Nicholas Tse. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Chen also learned conversational Japanese during his training to become a Hong Kong idol.

Career

Chen's career took off in 1999 when he was scouted while clubbing in Hong Kong, leading to his first commercial with Leon Lai. In 2015, he began dating Chinese model Qin Shupei, and they welcomed a daughter, Alaia, in 2017. The couple married the same year and currently reside in Los Angeles, USA.
