Early Life

Liu Yifei, born on August 25, 1987, in Wuhan, Hubei, China, is a Chinese-American actress and singer. Originally named An Feng, she is the only child of An Shaokang, a diplomat, and Liu Xiaoli, a dancer. After her parents divorced when she was ten, Liu moved to the United States with her mother, where they settled in Queens, New York. In 2002, she returned to China to pursue a career in acting, adopting the stage name Liu Yifei shortly thereafter. She was accepted into the prestigious Beijing Film Academy at the age of 15 and graduated in 2006.

Career

Liu Yifei's career took off shortly after her admission to the Beijing Film Academy. She made her television debut in 2003 with the hit series "The Story of a Noble Family," which garnered her significant attention. Her role in the adaptation of Louis Cha's novel, "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils," earned her the nickname "Fairy Sister" in China. In 2005, she starred in the fantasy drama "Chinese Paladin," which solidified her popularity. Transitioning to film, Liu made her Hollywood debut in 2007 with "The Forbidden Kingdom," and later starred in the romantic-comedy "Love in Disguise" in 2010. Liu's versatility as an actress has allowed her to maintain a prominent presence in both Chinese and international cinema.

Personal Life

Liu Yifei is known for her private nature, with little romantic gossip surrounding her. Her only publicly known relationship was with South Korean actor Song Seung-heon, which began around the release of their film "The Third Way of Love" in 2015. The couple dated with intentions of marriage but reportedly split in late 2017, with Liu confirming their breakup in January 2018. Liu continues to be a significant figure in the entertainment industry, recognized for her contributions to both film and music.
