BLANCO

Early Life

Riccardo Fabbriconi, known professionally as Blanco, was born on February 10, 2003, in Brescia, Italy. He grew up in Calvagese della Riviera, a picturesque town by Lake Garda, where he spent his childhood between Brescia and Desenzano del Garda. Influenced by his father, he developed a love for music early on, listening to iconic Italian artists like Lucio Battisti and Pino Daniele, while also immersing himself in the vibrant Italian hip-hop scene.

Career

Blanco's music career took off in 2020 when he released his EP "Quarantine Paranoid" on SoundCloud, which caught the attention of Universal and Island Records. His debut single "Belladonna (Adieu)" marked the beginning of his rise, followed by the sleeper hit "Notti in bianco" in 2021, which peaked at number two on the FIMI singles chart. His collaboration with Mace and Salmo on "La canzone nostra" became a massive success, reaching number one and earning quintuple platinum status. Blanco's single "Mi fai impazzire," featuring Sfera Ebbasta, dominated the charts for eight weeks and was certified sextuple platinum. His debut album, "Blu celeste," released in September 2021, debuted at the top of the FIMI album chart and was certified platinum shortly after.

Artistic Development

Initially recognized as a rapper and trap artist, Blanco has since transcended genre boundaries, blending elements of pop, punk, rock, and funk in his music. Critics have praised his unique style, with Rolling Stone Italia labeling him as "genreless." Blanco himself prefers to avoid strict labels, emphasizing that music should be experienced without definitions. His lyrics, often drawn from personal experiences, reflect a raw emotional intensity, as he describes his delivery as "shouting with the heart." Influenced by legendary Italian singer-songwriters, Blanco continues to carve out a distinctive space in the contemporary music landscape.
