Early Life

Cody Robert Simpson was born on January 11, 1997, in Benowa, a suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. He grew up in a supportive family with his parents, Brad and Angie Simpson, and two younger siblings, Alli and Tom. Simpson attended All Saints Anglican School and began his musical journey at a young age, uploading covers of popular songs to YouTube in 2009, which included hits like "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz and "Cry Me a River" by Justin Timberlake.

Career

Simpson's rise to fame began with his debut single "iYiYi," featuring American rapper Flo Rida, released on May 15, 2010. His music video for the second single, "Summertime," followed later that year. In June 2010, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career with Atlantic Records. He participated in the Camplified 2010 Tour and released his first EP, "4 U," in December 2010. Over the years, he has released several albums, including "Paradise" (2012), "Surfers Paradise" (2013), and "Free" (2015), with a self-titled album set for release in 2022. Notably, he won the first season of "The Masked Singer Australia" in 2019 and played the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway musical "Anastasia" from November 2018 to April 2019.

Cody Simpson's personal life has been in the spotlight as much as his music career. He dated reality star Kylie Jenner in 2011 and had a high-profile relationship with model Gigi Hadid from 2013 to 2015. More recently, he was linked to Miley Cyrus from late 2019 to mid-2020 and dated Belgian-American model Marloes Stevens until early 2022. As of April 2022, he began a relationship with fellow Australian swimmer Emma McKeon, although they confirmed their split in early 2026.
