Damiano David

Early Life

Damiano David was born in Rome to Daniele David and Rossella Scognamiglio, both of whom worked as flight attendants. This unique upbringing allowed him to travel extensively with his older brother, Jacopo, exposing them to diverse cultures from a young age. Initially, Damiano showed promise in basketball, playing as a point guard at Eurobasket Roma until the age of 17. He credits this experience with instilling in him the discipline necessary for success in his future endeavors.

Career

Damiano's musical journey began at the tender age of six. During his high school years, he met Victoria De Angelis and Thomas Raggi, with whom he would later form the rock band Måneskin. Although he initially faced rejection for his pop style, his persistence led to his acceptance in the band. Måneskin started as street performers in Rome before gaining fame by finishing second in the eleventh season of X Factor Italy in 2017. Their debut album, "Il ballo della vita," released in 2018, marked the beginning of their rise to stardom. In 2021, they won the prestigious Sanremo Music Festival and the Eurovision Song Contest with their hit song "Zitti e buoni." Following this success, Damiano embarked on a solo career, releasing singles like "Silverlines" and "Born With a Broken Heart," leading up to his debut album, "Funny Little Fears," set for release in 2025.

Damiano was in a long-term relationship with Italian model Giorgia Soleri until their split in June 2023.
