Dizzy Reed

Early Life

Darren Arthur "Dizzy" Reed was born on June 18, 1963, in Hinsdale, Illinois, and raised in Colorado. From a young age, he showed a passion for music, learning to play the organ under the guidance of his grandmother. By the time he was in elementary school, he had already formed small local bands, showcasing his early talent and enthusiasm for performance.

Music Career

Reed's professional music journey began in Los Angeles, where he became a founding member of the club band The Wild in the 1980s. His big break came in 1990 when he was invited by Axl Rose to join Guns N' Roses for the recording of the iconic "Use Your Illusion" albums. Since then, Reed has been an integral part of the band, contributing his keyboard, piano, and backing vocal talents to numerous hits, including "November Rain" and "Civil War." He has been a member of Guns N' Roses longer than all but Axl Rose himself, continuing to tour and record with the band.

Personal Life

Reed was married to Lisa for 20 years, and they have two daughters together. Following their divorce in 2010, he also has a daughter and a son from a previous relationship. In a surprising twist, Reed sought admission to a college fraternity at an age well beyond the norm, successfully joining the Cornell University chapter of Zeta Psi in 2006, demonstrating his unique approach to life and community involvement.
