Edward Furlong

Early Life

Edward Walter Furlong was born on August 2, 1977, in Glendale, California. He is of Mexican descent on his mother's side and has described himself as "part Russian". Raised primarily by his mother, Eleanor Torres, and her then-husband Moises Torres, Furlong faced family challenges early on, including a custody battle that led him to live with his aunt and uncle. His childhood was marked by a tumultuous home life, which included a significant incident involving his tutor, Jacqueline Domac, who engaged in a romantic relationship with him when he was a minor.

Career

Furlong's career took off at the young age of 13 when he was cast as John Connor in the iconic film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991). Discovered by casting director Mali Finn, Furlong's performance earned him critical acclaim, including an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and a Saturn Award. Following this breakout role, he starred in several films throughout the 1990s, including "Pet Sematary Two" and "American Heart".
