Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir, known simply as Greta Salóme, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and accomplished violinist. Born in Iceland, she has made a significant mark in the music industry, particularly in the pop genre. Greta's musical journey began early, and she honed her skills as a violinist, eventually becoming a member of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

Career Milestones

Greta's career took a notable turn when she represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, performing the duet "Never Forget" alongside singer Jónsi. Their performance earned them a spot in the final, where they finished in 20th place with 46 points. Following this, she released her debut album, "In the Silence," on November 16, 2012, which included her Eurovision entry in both English and Icelandic versions.

In 2016, Greta returned to Eurovision as a solo artist with her song "Hear Them Calling," which she performed in the first semi-final, finishing fourteenth with 51 points. Her participation in Eurovision has solidified her status in the Icelandic music scene, and she continues to work on her second studio album, showcasing her artistic development and commitment to her craft.
