Igor Cavalera

Early Life

Igor Graziano Cavalera was born on September 4, 1970, in Brazil. He grew up in a musical environment, which laid the foundation for his future career as a drummer. His passion for music led him to co-found the heavy metal band Sepultura with his brother Max in 1984, marking the beginning of a significant journey in the music industry.

Career

Cavalera gained fame as the drummer for Sepultura, where he became known for his loud and fast drumming style, characteristic of the thrash metal genre of the 1980s. His innovative contributions to the band's sound, particularly in albums like "Chaos A.D." and "Roots," introduced tribal elements that set Sepultura apart from their contemporaries. After Max left the band in 1996, Igor continued to perform until his departure in 2006, making him the last original member to leave. Following this, the brothers reunited in the band Cavalera Conspiracy, continuing their musical legacy together.

Outside of music, Igor Cavalera is a devoted family man with four children, born between 1996 and 2006.
