iKON

Formation

iKON is a South Korean boy band formed in 2015 by YG Entertainment. The group originally consisted of seven members: B.I, Bobby, Jay, DK, Ju-ne, Song, and Chan. The journey to their formation began with B.I and Jay joining YG Entertainment as trainees in 2011, followed by Bobby a week later. The trio trained together for a year, laying the groundwork for what would become Team B. In 2012, Junhoe and Song joined, and DK completed the lineup in 2012.

In 2013, Team B participated in the reality survival show "WIN: Who Is Next," competing against another trainee group, Team A. Although they did not win, they gained significant exposure. They later appeared in the follow-up program "Mix & Match" in 2014, which determined the final lineup of iKON. The group officially debuted in 2015 with their EP "WELCOME BACK," which included hit singles that propelled them into the K-pop spotlight.
