Kaleen

Early Life

Kaleen, born Marie-Sophie Kreissl, hails from Ried im Traunkreis in Upper Austria. She is the granddaughter of Hanneliese Kreißl-Wurth, a notable composer and producer in the hit and folk music genres. Kaleen's artistic journey began early; she started ballet lessons at just two years old and by the age of seven, she had already clinched her first Austrian championship title.

Career

Kaleen's career took off in 2014 when she participated in the German dance competition "Got to Dance," reaching the finals with her partner Paulo Albert. Since 2020, she has been a choreographer and director for ORF, contributing to shows like "Starmania." In 2021, she established her own record label, Wifi Records, and released her debut album, "Stripping Feelings," in September 2023. Kaleen draws inspiration from prominent artists such as Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé.

Her involvement with the Eurovision Song Contest began in 2018, where she took on various roles, including stand-in singer and choreographer. She has worked as a creative director for multiple countries in both the Junior and main Eurovision contests. In 2023, she competed to represent Austria with her song "Owe You Pretty," but was not selected. However, she was later chosen to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with her dance-pop track "We Will Rave," set to take place in Malmö, Sweden.
