Katarsis

Formation and Early Years

Katarsis is a Lithuanian alternative rock band formed on November 23, 2019, in Vilnius. Initially, it began as a solo project by Lukas Radzevičius, who started composing and releasing music while still in school. As invitations to perform at concerts increased, Radzevičius realized the need for a full band to deliver live performances, leading to the formation of Katarsis with a lineup that includes Alanas Brasas on electric guitar, Emilija Kandratavičiūtė on electric bass guitar, and Jokūbas Andriulis on drums.

Breakthrough and Eurovision

In 2024, Katarsis released their debut EP, "Dausos," marking a significant step in their career. The following year, they gained national attention by participating in Eurovizija.LT, Lithuania's selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, with their song "Tavo akys." The band advanced through the competition stages, ultimately winning the opportunity to represent Lithuania at Eurovision, where they finished 16th with a total of 96 points.

Touring and Future Plans

Following their Eurovision success, Katarsis announced a European tour set to include cities like Dublin, London, and Berlin, showcasing their ambition to expand their reach beyond Lithuania. Their journey reflects a blend of youthful energy and a commitment to their craft, as they continue to evolve and connect with audiences across Europe.
