KEiiNO

Formation

KEiiNO is a Norwegian band formed in late 2018, consisting of Sámi rapper Fred Buljo, singer Alexandra Rotan, and singer Tom Hugo. The group was created to participate in the Melodi Grand Prix 2019, where they won and subsequently represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The name "KEiiNO" is inspired by Buljo's hometown of Kautokeino, with the last part of the name symbolizing the journey that brought the members together.

The band's breakthrough came with their entry "Spirit in the Sky," which was inspired by historical struggles for equality. At Eurovision, they achieved significant success, finishing sixth overall but topping the public vote with 291 points. They have also produced albums such as "OKTA" and "Chromium Heart," along with an EP titled "Midnight Marina EP."
