Kristoffer Kristofferson was born on June 22, 1936, in Brownsville, Texas, as the eldest of three children to Mary Ann and Henry Kristofferson, a U.S. Army Air Corps officer. Kristofferson graduated from San Mateo High School in 1954 and later attended Pomona College, where he majored in literature and graduated summa cum laude in 1958. In 1983, he married Lisa Meyers, with whom he shared a home in Malibu and a residence in Hawaii until his passing in 2024.
