Early Life

Randall William Rhoads was born on December 6, 1956, in Santa Monica, California, into a musically inclined family. His parents, Bill and Delores Rhoads, were both music teachers, and they raised Randy alongside his two siblings. Delores opened a music school called Musonia, where she taught Randy to read sheet music and nurtured his early interest in music. By the age of seven, Rhoads began taking folk and classical guitar lessons, eventually gravitating towards rock music, influenced by bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Career

Rhoads co-founded the heavy metal band Quiet Riot, where he showcased his exceptional guitar skills. He later gained fame as the guitarist and co-songwriter for Ozzy Osbourne's first two solo albums, "Blizzard of Ozz" (1980) and "Diary of a Madman" (1981). His innovative playing style and technical prowess earned him a place among the greats, and he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. Rhoads' work has had a lasting impact on the heavy metal genre, influencing countless guitarists and musicians.
