Early Life

Tamta Goduadze, known mononymously as Tamta, was born in Georgia, where she began singing at the tender age of five. At just 14, she married her teenage boyfriend and welcomed their daughter, Annie. While raising her child, Tamta completed high school and attended Tbilisi State University. After six years of marriage, she divorced and immigrated to Greece with her daughter, joining her mother and younger brother who had previously settled there. In Greece, Tamta faced challenges, including a lack of a residence permit, and worked as a housekeeper to support her family.

Career

Tamta's musical journey took off in 2004 when she participated in Super Idol Greece, where she finished as the runner-up. This exposure led to a contract with Minos EMI, and her debut single "Eisai To Allo Mou Miso" was released shortly after. Her first studio album, simply titled "Tamta," came out in 2006, marking the beginning of her professional music career. Over the years, she released several successful albums, including "Agapise me" and "Θάρρος ή αλήθεια," and became a prominent figure in the Greek pop music scene. Notably, she competed in the Greek national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "With Love," which became a hit despite her third-place finish. Tamta has also served as a mentor on various X Factor shows in Georgia and Greece, showcasing her influence in the music industry.

Personal Life

Tamta's personal life has seen her in notable relationships, including a long-term partnership with Grigoris Petrakos from 2004 to 2010, and since 2015, she has been with Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis. In 2022, she became a Greek citizen, further solidifying her connection to her adopted home. Fluent in Greek, Georgian, English, and Russian, Tamta continues to thrive in her career while balancing her family life.
