TIX

Early Life

Andreas Haukeland, known professionally as TIX, was born on April 12, 1993, in Norway. Growing up, he faced significant challenges, particularly due to his Tourette syndrome, which led to bullying during his school years. This experience deeply affected his mental health, and he often expressed feelings of inadequacy in relationships, fearing he would never find love or acceptance due to his condition. His journey into music began in 2010 when he wrote a song for his school bus crew during a russ celebration, marking the start of his career in music.

Career

TIX gained prominence in the Norwegian music scene primarily through his Russ music, characterized by controversial lyrics. His debut studio album, "Dømt og berømt," released in September 2016, peaked at number 2 on the VG-lista, the official Norwegian Albums Chart. Over the years, he has released numerous singles, including the hit "Shotgun" in 2018, which marked his transition to pop music. TIX also collaborated with international artists, co-producing tracks for Flo Rida and Ava Max. His participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Fallen Angel" further solidified his status as a notable figure in the music industry.

Personal Life

Beyond his music, TIX is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, openly sharing his struggles and experiences. He was in a relationship with Norwegian influencer Marthe Elise Brenne from early 2019 to late 2020, dedicating the song "Deg Eller Ingenting" to her. In 2021, he published a book titled "TIX: Den Stygge Andungen" (The Ugly Duckling), which recounts his childhood and became Norway's best-selling non-fiction children's book shortly after its release. TIX's journey reflects resilience and a commitment to using his platform to inspire others facing similar challenges.
