Early Life

Zhang Ziyi, born in Beijing, China, is a prominent actress and model known for her strong-willed characters. She was born to Zhang Yuanxiao, an accountant, and Li Zhousheng, a kindergarten teacher, and has an older brother, Zhang Zinan, who initially managed her career. Zhang began her artistic journey at the age of eight with folk dance and later attended the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy. Her early experiences in a competitive environment led her to run away from school at one point. In 1994, she won a performance award at the National Taoli Cup Dance Competition, and in 1996, she enrolled in the Central Academy of Drama, where she made her acting debut in the television film "Touching Starlight."

In 2015, she married Chinese rock musician Wang Feng, with whom she has two children. However, their marriage faced challenges, leading to their divorce announcement in October 2023.
