Early Life and Education

Monika Linkytė was born on June 3, 1992, in Šilutė, Lithuania. She completed her gymnasium education in Gargždai before moving to Vilnius to attend Vilnius University, initially studying public health. However, after three semesters, she shifted her focus to law, which she pursued until 2016 when she decided to follow her passion for music education at BIMM University in London.

Career

Linkytė's musical journey began early; at just 15, she competed in the Lithuanian national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. She made her first significant mark in the Eurovision scene in 2010 with the song "Give Away," where she placed tenth. Over the years, she participated in several Eurovizija competitions, achieving notable placements with songs like "Days Go By" and "Happy." In 2014, she represented Lithuania at the New Wave competition, earning a prize from the renowned Alla Pugacheva. Her breakthrough came in 2015 when she won the Eurovizijos Atranka with the song "This Time," which led her to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, finishing 18th. Linkytė returned to Eurovision in 2023 with the song "Stay," where she placed 11th, further solidifying her status in the music industry.
