Early Life

Samira Abdelrazak Bensaïd, known professionally as Samira Said, was born on January 10, 1956, in Rabat, Morocco. She grew up in a musical environment, beginning her singing career at the tender age of nine. Her talent was discovered on the Moroccan television program Mawaheb, which led her to pursue a career in music. In 1977, she moved to Egypt, where she would spend the majority of her life and solidify her status as a prominent figure in the Arabic music scene.

Career

Samira Said's career took off after her relocation to Egypt, where she became known for her contributions to the Egyptian Arabic genre. In 1980, she made history by being the first artist to represent Morocco in the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song "Bitaqat Hub". Over the years, she has released numerous albums, including hits like "Aweeny Beek" and "Al Gany Baad Youmein", and has collaborated with renowned composers such as Mohamed El Mougi. Personal Life

Samira Said was married to Egyptian musician Hany Mehanna from 1988 to 1994, and later to businessman Mustafa Naboulsy, with whom she has a son named Shady. Despite her success, she has expressed a longing to return to Morocco to be closer to her family.
