Early Life

Park Shin-hye was born on February 18, 1990, in Gwangju, South Korea, and grew up in the Songpa District of Seoul alongside her older brother. Her journey into the entertainment industry began at a young age when she auditioned for and appeared in music videos for singer Lee Seung-hwan, which led her to receive formal training in singing, dancing, and acting at Dream Factory. After completing her education at Youngpa Girls' High School, she pursued a degree in theater at Chung-Ang University, graduating in February 2016.

Career

Park first gained recognition as a child actress in the 2003 drama "Stairway to Heaven," where she portrayed the younger version of Choi Ji-woo's character. Her career continued to flourish with her first adult leading role in the melodrama "Tree of Heaven" in 2006, which garnered her critical acclaim and marked the start of her international recognition. She made her film debut in the horror movie "Evil Twin" in 2007, showcasing her versatility by playing dual roles. Park's popularity soared with leading roles in hit dramas such as "You're Beautiful" (2009), "The Heirs" (2013), and "Pinocchio" (2014-2015). Her recent projects include leading roles in "Memories of the Alhambra" (2018-2019) and upcoming dramas like "Doctor Slump" and "The Judge from Hell" in 2024.

Personal Life

Park Shin-hye comes from a devout Christian family, and her faith has been a significant part of her life. She confirmed her relationship with fellow actor Choi Tae-joon in March 2018, and the couple announced their engagement in November 2021. They married on January 22, 2022, and welcomed their first child, a son, on May 31, 2022. In April 2026, it was revealed that they are expecting their second child, further expanding their family.
