Formation
Radiohead, an English rock band, was formed in 1991 in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, by five schoolmates from Abingdon School. The original lineup consisted of Thom Yorke (lead vocals), Jonny Greenwood (electric guitar), Colin Greenwood (double bass), Ed O’Brien (background vocals), and Philip Selway (percussion). Initially named On a Friday, the band changed their name to Radiohead after signing with EMI in 1991.
