Early Life

Lee Min-ho was born on June 22, 1987, in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak District, Seoul, South Korea. Raised in a Buddhist family, he is the younger of two siblings. Initially aspiring to be a professional football player, his dreams were dashed due to an injury in elementary school. During his school years, he was often teased for his appearance, earning nicknames like "darkie" and "skeleton." By high school, he shifted his focus to acting and modeling, which led to a chance encounter with the future president of Starhaus Entertainment, marking the beginning of his professional career.

Career

Lee Min-ho's acting career took off after he signed with Starhaus Entertainment in 2005. He debuted in the EBS series "Secret Campus" in 2006, but his rise to fame came with his role as Gu Jun-pyo in the hit series "Boys Over Flowers" in 2009, which earned him the Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actor. Despite facing a serious car accident in 2006 that sidelined him for a year, he made a strong comeback with leading roles in popular dramas such as "City Hunter" (2011) and "The Heirs" (2013). Lee has also ventured into music, releasing singles like "Thank You" and EPs such as "My Everything."

Personal Life

Lee Min-ho has an older sister, Yun-jeong, who co-founded his current agency, MYM Entertainment. He completed his mandatory military service starting in May 2017, serving as a public service officer due to injuries from his past accidents. Lee continues to be a prominent figure in the South Korean entertainment industry, known for his versatility as both an actor and a singer, and he remains a beloved celebrity in Korea and beyond.
