Early Life

Amanda Michelle Seyfried was born on December 3, 1985, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Growing up in a family with a musical background—her older sister was a musician—Seyfried began modeling at the young age of eight. She signed with Image International and later with Pro Model, while also pursuing her passion for the arts through piano lessons and high school theater productions. Although she enrolled at Fordham University in 2003, she opted to leave after landing a leading role in the film "Mean Girls" (2004).

Career

Seyfried's career took off with her role as Karen Smith in "Mean Girls," which became a box office hit, grossing over $130 million. Following this success, she appeared in various television series, including a recurring role on "As the World Turns" and later on "All My Children." Seyfried's versatility as an actress led her to significant roles in films such as "Les Misérables" (2012) and the biopic "Mank" (2020), where her portrayal of Marion Davies earned her critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including an Academy Award nomination. In 2022, she won a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the Hulu miniseries "The Dropout," where she portrayed Elizabeth Holmes.

Personal Life

Beyond her professional achievements, Seyfried has been open about her struggles with anxiety and stage fright, which initially kept her from performing in theater productions until 2015. She is also a dedicated humanitarian, serving on the board of the International Network for Aid, Relief and Assistance (INARA), focusing on providing medical services to children affected by war. Seyfried's personal life includes relationships with several actors, culminating in her marriage to Thomas Sadoski in 2017, with whom she has two children.
