Audrey Justine Tautou was born on August 9, 1976, in Beaumont, Puy-de-Dôme, France, and raised in Montluçon. She is the daughter of Bernard Tautou, a dental surgeon, and Eveline Marie Laure Nuret, a teacher. Named after the iconic actress Audrey Hepburn, Tautou showed an early interest in acting, which led her to take lessons at the Cours Florent, where she also learned English and Italian.

Career

Tautou made her acting debut at the age of 18 on television, and her feature film debut came in 1999 with "Venus Beauty Institute," a role that garnered her critical acclaim and the César Award for Most Promising Actress. However, it was her performance in the 2001 romantic comedy "Amélie" that catapulted her to international fame.
