Aygün Kazımova

Early Life

Aygün Kazımova, born on January 26, 1971, in Azerbaijan, is the youngest of four children. After completing high school, she briefly attended the Maarif Tekhnikum of Arts but left in 1986 to pursue her passion for music. During this time, she performed with the Gaya youth band, laying the groundwork for her future career.

Career

Kazımova's professional journey began in 1988 when she won first prize at the Baki Payizi-88 music contest, marking the start of her solo career. She gained recognition at the Yurmala music competition in 1989 and earned accolades at "The Voice of Asia" contest in Kazakhstan in 1992. Her debut album, "Sevgi Gülləri" (Flowers of Love), was released in 1997, featuring fourteen tracks. In 2001, she was honored with the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan. Kazımova's versatility is evident in her roles in theater and television, including the title role in the musical "Khari Bulbullar" and the character Sanam in the screen adaptation of "Meshadi Ibad." Notably, her collaboration with Snoop Dogg on the hit song "Coffee From Colombia" in 2013 showcased her international appeal.

Personal Life

Kazımova's personal life has seen its share of ups and downs. She married Ilgar Ibrahimov in 1989, with whom she had a daughter, Ilgara, before divorcing in 1991. Her second marriage to Rza Guliyev ended after his arrest in 1996. Over the years, she has been linked to several notable figures, including Turkish actor Mert Kılıç and meykhana singer Namig Garachukhurlu. In 2016, she confirmed a relationship with Farhad Aliyev, son of an energy minister, but this too ended later that year. Despite her personal challenges, Kazımova remains a beloved figure in Azerbaijani music, celebrated for her contributions and artistic achievements.
