Ben Barnes

Early Life

Benjamin Thomas Barnes was born on August 20, 1981, in southwest London to Patricia Becker, a relationship psychotherapist, and Thomas Barnes, a psychiatrist and professor. Growing up with a younger brother, Jack, Barnes was influenced by his mother's Jewish South African heritage and his father's scientific background. He attended Homefield Preparatory School and King's College School, where he developed a passion for music, singing in choirs and playing percussion in various ensembles. At the age of sixteen, he began his journey in musical theatre with the National Youth Music Theatre, performing as a drummer in the West End adaptation of Bugsy Malone.

Career

Barnes's career took off in 2006 when he made his television debut with a guest appearance on the UK series Doctors. He gained significant recognition for his role as Prince Caspian in the film adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008). His portrayal of the character showcased his ability to convey a coming-of-age story filled with emotional depth. Following this, he starred in various projects, including the HBO series Westworld and the Marvel series The Punisher, where he played the role of Billy Russo/Jigsaw. In addition to acting, Barnes has ventured into music, releasing singles such as "11:11" and "Nevermind (Strings)" and an album titled Where the Light Gets In.
