Early Life

Bill Kaulitz was born on September 1, 1989, in Leipzig, East Germany. He has an identical twin brother, Tom, who is older by ten minutes. Their parents, Simone and Jörg W., separated when Bill was seven. His mother later married Gordon Trümper, the guitarist from the German rock band Fatun. From a young age, Bill showed a keen interest in singing, while Tom gravitated towards playing guitar. Their stepfather recognized their musical talents and encouraged them to form a band, leading the twins to start writing music together at the age of seven.

Career

Kaulitz's musical journey began at the age of 10 when he and Tom started performing live in Magdeburg. They initially played small shows and, despite their talent, remained largely unknown. The turning point came when they met Georg Listing and Gustav Schäfer, who joined them to form the band Devilish. Their big break arrived in 2005 when they signed with Universal Music Group and rebranded as Tokio Hotel. Their debut album, "Schrei," was released that same year, featuring the hit single "Durch den Monsun," which topped the German charts.

As Tokio Hotel gained popularity, Kaulitz expanded his artistic endeavors, including voice acting in films and modeling. He has also served as a jury member on talent shows and co-hosted the reality show "Queen of Drags". In 2022, he launched an OnlyFans account, donating proceeds to marine conservation efforts. His upcoming film debut in 2026 will see him play a member of a heavy metal band in a horror sequel.

Personal Life

Bill and Tom Kaulitz moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to escape stalkers and to facilitate their music production. Bill has been open about his views on love and sexuality, stating that he does not feel the need to label his orientation. He has been in the public eye for his relationships, particularly with model Marc Eggers. Bill is also known for his close friendship with Tom's wife, Heidi Klum, and has expressed support for various social causes, including animal rights and environmental issues.
