Formation

Bullet for My Valentine, often abbreviated as BFMV, is a Welsh heavy metal band formed in 2003 in Bridgend, Wales. The band originally started under the name Jeff Killed John, founded by Matthew Tuck, Michael Paget, Nick Crandle, and Michael Thomas while they were studying music at Bridgend College. They began their musical journey by covering songs from iconic bands like Metallica and Nirvana. After a series of EP releases, including their self-titled EP, the band changed their name to Bullet for My Valentine and solidified their lineup with Jason James replacing Crandle on bass.

Breakthrough

The band's breakthrough came with the release of their debut album, "The Poison," in 2005, which was well-received and helped them gain significant attention in the metalcore scene. This was followed by several successful albums, including "Scream Aim Fire" (2008), "Fever" (2010), and "Temper Temper" (2013). Over the years, the lineup has seen changes, with Jamie Mathias joining as the bassist in 2015 and Jason Bowld taking over drums in 2017, while original members Tuck and Paget have remained constant throughout.
