Cara Jocelyn Delevingne was born on August 12, 1992, in Hammersmith, London, into a prominent family with a rich heritage. She is the youngest daughter of property developer Charles Hamar Delevingne and Pandora Stevens Delevingne, and has two older sisters, Chloe and Poppy. Growing up in Belgravia, Cara faced challenges during her education at Bedales School, where she struggled with dyspraxia and depression. Despite these hurdles, she began her modeling career at the age of ten, eventually signing with Storm Management in 2009.
