Early Life

Cheryl Ann Tweedy was born on June 30, 1983, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Growing up in the suburbs of Walker and Heaton, she was the fourth of five children in her family. Cheryl's parents separated when she was just 11 years old, and her paternal lineage includes coal miners and mariners from Tyneside. From a young age, she showed a passion for performing, appearing in a British Gas advertisement at seven and taking dance classes, including a summer course at the Royal Ballet School.

Career

Cheryl's rise to fame began in 2002 when she auditioned for the reality show "Popstars: The Rivals," which aimed to create a girl group and a boy band. She successfully secured a spot in the girl group, which became known as Girls Aloud, alongside Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh. The group quickly gained popularity, achieving 20 consecutive UK top ten singles and winning a Brit Award for Best Single in 2009 for "The Promise." After the group went on hiatus in 2013, Cheryl launched a successful solo career, releasing several albums including "3 Words," "Messy Little Raindrops," and "A Million Lights."

Personal Life

Cheryl's personal life has been as public as her career. She was married to footballer Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010, after which she began using her first name as her stage name. In 2014, she married restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, but they separated after a brief marriage. Cheryl later dated singer Liam Payne, with whom she shares a son, born in March 2017. Their relationship ended in July 2018, but Cheryl has remained a prominent figure in the music industry and continues to influence pop culture.
