Early Life

Chloé Wang, known professionally as Chloe Bennet, was born on April 18, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of Bennet Wang, a private wealth banker, and Stephanie Crane, an internist. With a diverse heritage, her mother is Anglo-American and her father is Chinese. Growing up in a large family, she has six brothers, including biological, foster, and adopted siblings of various ethnic backgrounds. Chloe attended St. Ignatius College Prep and has openly discussed her struggles with anxiety and ADHD since childhood.

Career Beginnings

At the age of 15, Chloe moved to China to pursue a singing career, living with her paternal grandmother and studying Mandarin. In 2011, she released two singles, "Uh Oh" and "Every Day in Between," under her birth name, Chloe Wang. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2010, she began her acting career, first appearing as a host on the short-lived TeenNick series, The Nightlife. To enhance her casting opportunities, she adopted the stage name Chloe Bennet, using her father's first name to navigate the challenges of being an ethnic Asian American in Hollywood.

Breakthrough and Recognition

Chloe's breakthrough came with her role as Skye in the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which premiered in 2013. Her character, a hacker who later becomes Daisy Johnson / Quake, resonated with audiences and showcased her talent. In recognition of her contributions to the arts, she received the "Visionary Award" from East West Players in 2017, dedicating it to young girls aspiring to be superheroes. Chloe's journey reflects her dedication to both music and acting, making her a multifaceted artist in the entertainment industry.
