Christina Victoria Grimmie was born on March 12, 1994, in Marlton, New Jersey, to Tina and Albert Grimmie. She grew up in a musical family, with her father working at Verizon Communications and her mother, a three-time breast cancer survivor, serving as a significant inspiration in her life. Christina began singing at a young age, with her talent for music recognized by her father when she was just six years old. By the age of ten, she was playing the piano, although she primarily played by ear. She attended several schools, including Bethel Baptist Christian School and Cherokee High School, where she was homeschooled during her junior year.

Career

Grimmie's career took off in 2009 when she started posting cover songs on her YouTube channel under the username zeldaxlove64. Her cover of Miley Cyrus's "Party in the U.S.A." garnered significant attention, leading to her first major recognition. In 2011, she released her debut EP, "Find Me," and quickly gained a following, reaching one million subscribers on YouTube. Her debut studio album, "With Love," was released in 2013, further solidifying her place in the music industry. Grimmie was known for her powerful voice and was praised by industry icons like Usher and Shakira for her vocal range and control.

Personal Life and Activism

Beyond her music, Grimmie was a dedicated Christian and an animal rights activist. She participated in various fundraising events for the Humane Society and worked with PETA to promote pet adoption.
