Early Life

Danny Jacobs is an American actor and comedian known for his vibrant voice acting career. Born into a devout Catholic family of Lebanese descent, Jacobs initially aspired to be an NBA player. His journey into the performing arts began during his high school years at Bishop Gallagher High School in Harper Woods, Michigan, where he became captivated by acting after attending rehearsals for a production of "West Side Story." He later participated in school productions of "Grease" and "The Wiz." Jacobs pursued his passion for theater at Wayne State University and later transferred to the University of Arizona, majoring in musical theater, inspired by his cousin's role in the original Broadway production of "Les Misérables."

Career

Jacobs' professional career took off in 1993 when he originated the role of Chico Fernández in Jeff Daniels' comedy "The Vast Difference" at the Purple Rose Theatre. He gained recognition in the voice acting realm with his debut in 1999, landing an uncredited role in "Full Blast" and contributing background voices for the animated series "Futurama." His big break came when he took over the role of King Julien in "The Penguins of Madagascar" from Sacha Baron Cohen, a role he would reprise in various specials and the series "All Hail King Julien." His impressive work earned him two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program in 2011 and 2015.
