David Michael Murray, born in England, is best known as the iconic guitarist of the legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He joined the band early in its formation, which began on December 23, 1956, and has since become the second-longest serving member after founder Steve Harris. Murray's unique guitar style, heavily influenced by the legato technique he admired in Jimi Hendrix, has played a significant role in shaping Iron Maiden's sound.

Murray's career with Iron Maiden has been marked by his fluid guitar playing and harmonized riffs, particularly with bandmate Adrian Smith.
