Early Life

David Wayne Spade was born on July 22, 1964, in Birmingham, Michigan, to Judith J. and Wayne M. "Sam" Spade. He grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, after his family moved there when he was four. Raised primarily by his mother following his parents' divorce, Spade experienced a modest upbringing. He attended Saguaro High School and later Scottsdale Community College before transferring to Arizona State University, where he dropped out to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. During his college years, he performed at the university's sketch comedy show, Farce Side Comedy Hour, and honed his craft at local venues.

Career

Spade's career took off in the late 1980s when he was cast in the film "Police Academy 4" after being discovered at The Improv in Los Angeles. He joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live" in 1990, where he became known for his sarcastic humor and memorable characters, including the flight attendant from "Total Bastard Airlines" and the quick-witted "Hollywood Minute" reporter.
