Early Life

Don Wayne Johnson was born on December 15, 1949, in Flat Creek, Missouri, into a challenging family environment. His mother, Nell, was a beautician, and his father, Fredie Wayne Johnson, was a farmer. Johnson's childhood was marked by dysfunction, with his parents divorcing when he was just 12 years old. He moved around during his youth, eventually settling in Wichita, Kansas, where he graduated from Wichita South High School in 1967. It was during high school that he discovered his passion for acting, taking drama classes and performing in productions like "West Side Story."

Career

Johnson's career began on stage in 1969 with the lead role in the play "Fortune and Men's Eyes." He transitioned to film and television, but it was his role as Sonny Crockett in the iconic 1980s series "Miami Vice" that catapulted him to fame. The show, which ran from 1984 to 1990, made him a household name and earned him a Golden Globe Award. In addition to acting, Johnson pursued a music career, releasing two pop albums in the 1980s: "Heartbeat" in 1986 and "Let It Roll" in 1989. His single "Heartbeat" reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
