Early Life

Eiza González Reyna was born on January 30, 1990, in Mexico City, Mexico. Growing up in a family with a modeling background—her mother Glenda was a model—Eiza faced a significant personal tragedy when her father died in a motorcycle accident when she was just 12 years old. This loss profoundly influenced her life and career aspirations. She has one younger brother named Yulen and attended two private bilingual schools, Edron Academy and the American School Foundation. At the age of 10, she spent time in Trento, Italy, to learn Italian, showcasing her early interest in languages. Eiza began her acting education at the M&M Studio in Mexico City and later attended Televisa's acting school, where she honed her craft.

Career

Eiza's career took off when she was cast as the lead in the teen-oriented telenovela "Lola...Érase una vez" at the age of 16. The show premiered in February 2007 and gained popularity across Latin America and the United States. Following this success, she briefly moved to New York City to further her acting skills at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In 2009, she appeared in the crime drama series "Mujeres Asesinas" and in 2010, she starred in the Nickelodeon sitcom "Sueña conmigo," where she played dual roles. Eiza also pursued a music career, releasing her debut album "Contracorriente" in 2009, followed by "Te acordarás de mí" in 2012, under EMI Latin.

Personal Life

Eiza is multilingual, speaking Spanish, English, and Italian fluently, along with some French. She has openly discussed her struggles with depression and compulsive overeating during her teenage years, a challenge she faced after her father's death. As of April 2025, she has been in a relationship with Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov, marking a new chapter in her personal life. Eiza continues to be a prominent figure in both the acting and music industries, with a growing legacy in entertainment.
