Early Life

Tanner Elle Schneider, known professionally as Elle King, was born on July 3, 1989, in Los Angeles County, California. She is the daughter of comedian Rob Schneider and model London King, whose divorce led her and her mother to relocate to Ohio. Growing up in Columbus and Wellston, King was inspired to pursue music after receiving a record from the all-female rock band the Donnas at age nine. This pivotal moment, combined with her exposure to artists like the Runaways and Blondie, ignited her passion for music. By age 13, she was playing guitar and immersing herself in the sounds of legendary musicians such as Otis Redding and Hank Williams. Her teenage years were spent in New York City, where she honed her craft and participated in various musicals at Buck's Rock camp.

Career

Elle King's career began in 1999 with her acting debut in her father's film, "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo." By 2005, she was performing in New York City clubs, using a fake ID to gain entry. Her breakthrough came when she signed with RCA Records, releasing her debut single "Good To Be A Man" in 2012, followed by her EP, "The Elle King EP." King quickly gained recognition, being named an "Artist to Watch" by Esquire Magazine and performing at major festivals like South by Southwest. Her musical style blends elements of country, rock, and blues, with influences from artists such as Etta James and Johnny Cash. Over the years, she has released several albums, including "Love Stuff," "Shake the Spirit," and "Come Get Your Wife."

Personal Life

Elle King married Andrew "Fergie" Ferguson on February 14, 2016, after a whirlwind romance. However, their relationship faced challenges, leading to a divorce in 2018. In 2020, she became engaged to tattoo artist Dan Tooker, with whom she shares two sons. King is known for her extensive tattoo collection and has openly discussed her relationship with her father, Rob Schneider, describing it as an "ebb and flow."
