Formation

Go_A is a Ukrainian folktronica band formed in 2012, originating from the vibrant music scene of Ukraine. The group was founded when keyboardist and percussionist Taras Shevchenko met folk singer Kateryna Pavlenko. They were soon joined by Ihor Didenchuk and Ivan Hryhoriak, creating a lineup that would define their unique sound. The band's name, a combination of the English word "Go" and the Greek letter "Alpha," symbolizes a return to roots, reflecting their commitment to singing primarily in Ukrainian.

Breakthrough

The band made their debut with the single "Koliada" in December 2012, but it was their 2015 hit "Vesnianka" that truly catapulted them into the spotlight, winning the national competition The Best Track in Ukraine and earning them the Discovery of the Year award from Kiss FM. Their first album, "Idy na zvuk," was released in November 2016, featuring ten tracks including the popular "Vesnianka." Go_A gained international recognition when they represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with their song "Shum," finishing fifth overall and second in the public vote.
