Godzilla was a French thrash/death metal band formed in 1996. The group emerged from the vibrant metal scene in France, bringing a unique sound that would later evolve into what is now known as Gojira. Their music was characterized by heavy riffs and complex rhythms, which quickly garnered them a dedicated following.

Key Releases

During their brief career, Godzilla released several notable EPs that showcased their musical prowess. Their discography includes the EPs "Victim," "Possessed," "Saturate," and "Wisdom Comes." Each release contributed to their reputation as a formidable force in the underground metal scene, highlighting their technical skills and innovative approach to music.

Disbandment

Despite their promising start and growing fanbase, Godzilla disbanded in 2001, just five years after their formation. The members would go on to regroup and rebrand as Gojira, achieving significant success and recognition in the global metal community. Godzilla's legacy lives on through Gojira, which continues to influence new generations of metal musicians.
