Early Life

Hugh Michael Jackman was born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, to English parents Grace McNeil and Christopher John Jackman. His family moved to Australia in 1967 as part of the "Ten Pound Poms" immigration scheme. Growing up, Jackman was the second of five siblings and spent much of his childhood outdoors, enjoying the beach and camping trips. His parents divorced when he was eight, leading him to live with his father and two brothers while his mother returned to England with his sisters. Jackman attended Pymble Public School and later Knox Grammar School, where he began to explore his passion for performing arts.

Career

Jackman's career began in theatre and television, with his first major role in the Australian drama series "Correlli".
