Ibn Bâjja

Early Life

Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Yaḥya ibn aṣ-Ṣā’igh at-Tūjībī ibn Bājja, commonly known as Ibn Bajja or his Latinized name Avempace, was born around 1085 in the region of Al-Andalus. He emerged as a prominent Arab Andalusian polymath, whose intellectual pursuits spanned various fields including astronomy, physics, music, philosophy, medicine, botany, and poetry.
