Formation

Jedward, the Irish musical duo consisting of identical twins John and Edward Grimes, was formed in 2009. The twins first gained public attention when they auditioned for the sixth series of The X Factor in Glasgow, where they were initially met with skepticism from judge Simon Cowell. Despite this, they advanced through the competition, ultimately becoming a fan-favorite for their energetic performances and unique style. Breakthrough

Following their stint on The X Factor, where they finished seventh, Jedward signed with Modest! Management and later with Universal Music Ireland.
