Early Life

Jeff Bridges was born on December 4, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, into a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry. He is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges and actress Dorothy Bridges, and he grew up alongside his siblings, including older brother Beau Bridges, who also pursued acting. Raised in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, Jeff developed a passion for performance early on, making his first screen appearance at just one year old. He graduated from University High School in 1967 and later studied acting at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City. Additionally, he served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve from 1967 to 1975.

Bridges married Susan Geston in 1977 after meeting her on the set of "Rancho Deluxe". The couple has three daughters and has maintained a close-knit family life. A practicing Buddhist, Bridges incorporates meditation into his daily routine and has co-authored a book on the subject. In 2020, he announced a battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, but by September 2021, he shared that his cancer was in remission.
