Jeffrey John Hanneman was born in the United States and became a prominent figure in the music world as a founding member and co-lead guitarist of the thrash metal band Slayer. In 1989, Hanneman married Kathryn in Las Vegas, having met her in 1983 at a Slayer show. Known for his selective socializing, he preferred to keep a low profile outside of his music career. Despite the controversies surrounding his lyrics, Hanneman maintained that he did not condone Nazism and sought to express complex themes through his art.
