Early Life

Jennette McCurdy was born on June 26, 1992, at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, California. Raised in Garden Grove, California, she grew up in a middle-class family that was part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, although she left the religion in her early adulthood. Her mother, Debra, homeschooled Jennette and her three older brothers, but their home life was marked by tragedy due to Debra's battle with cancer and her compulsive hoarding. This challenging environment shaped Jennette's early experiences and influenced her later artistic expressions.

Career

McCurdy began her acting career at the young age of eight on the adult comedy sketch show Mad TV. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Sam Puckett in the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly from 2007 to 2012, which earned her four Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. She reprised this role in the spin-off series Sam & Cat alongside Ariana Grande. Beyond acting, McCurdy has ventured into music, releasing her self-titled album and several singles, including "So Close" and "Homeless Heart."
