Jeremy Lee Renner was born on January 7, 1971, in Modesto, California. He is the oldest of seven siblings, with a diverse heritage of Irish and German descent. His parents, Valerie Cearley and Lee Renner, managed a local bowling alley during his childhood. After his parents divorced when he was ten, Renner graduated from Fred C. Beyer High School in 1989 and later attended Modesto Junior College, where he initially studied computer science and criminology.
